An outstanding natural attraction in the heights of Arequipa, which is home to great biodiversity and varied settings like the beautiful landscapes of the Coropuna and Solimana snowy mountains, the Sipia waterfall and hot springs, in addition to Cotahuasi Canyon, similar in depth to the Colca Canyon. The area has been designated a Landscape Reserve(protected natural area) and is perfect for hiking, canoeing, climbing, hang gliding, or mountain biking.

Located in La Unión province, 375 km to the north-east of Arequipa (9 hours by car and 12 hours by public bus) from Arequipa, the valley offers visits to traditional towns and hot springs, the Sipia waterfalls and the geological faults in the canyon. With a depth of 3,562 meters (11,686 feet) the canyon is one of the deepest in the world and the second deepest in Peru, after Colca Canyon.

The Sipia Waterfall has a free fall of 150 meters (492 feet) which forms a permanent rainbow, much to the delight of visitors. A perfect setting for adventure sports including trekking, canoeing, paragliding, hang gliding, mountain biking, rock climbing, fishing and horseback riding.
